THE NEXT MEETING OF CHAPEL EN LE FRITH PARISH COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON
TUESDAY 1ST JULY 2025 IN THE TOWN HALL AT 7PM
MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC AND PRESS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND
AGENDA
The business to be transacted will be as follows:
1. 7pm - To receive any apologies for absence
2. To make any Declarations of Interest
3. To consider any applications for Dispensations
4. To determine which items, if any, from the agenda should be taken with the public excluded. If the Parish Council decides to exclude the public, it will be necessary to pass a resolution in the following terms: “to consider a resolution under the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings Act 1960) s1 to exclude members of the press and public in order to discuss item number ...”
This item will then be discussed with the press and public excluded.'
5. To agree any variations of order of business

7. Public Participation – up to 10 minutes will be made available for members of the public to raise matters relevant to the business of the Parish Council:

8. 7.15pm - To approve the minutes of the Full Council meetings held on 3rd June 2025
9. 7.20pm - To consider Councillor applications received and to fill the vacant seats.
10. 8.05pm - To receive the Chair’s Report
11. 8.10pm - To receive updates on Actions from previous Minutes
25/402 Missing Bench on the Market Place damaged by a vehicle
25/403 Standardisation of the flower beds in Derbyshire stone including plaque acknowledging the bequest
26/018 Completion of Councillor Skills Audit
12. 8.15pm - To consider Planning Applications notified to the Parish Council
13. To consider any Planning Appeals notified to the Parish Council
14. To comment on any Planning Decision Notices
15. 8.30pm - To receive any reports from Committees/working groups (except if the issue is elsewhere on agenda):
(a) Regeneration & Communications Committee
(b) Finance & Town Hall Committee
(c) Personnel Committee
Motion: Proposed that the Council and associated committees undertake a review of current work with a particular focus on the potential for development of the service to the local community, to report at the September meeting, with a view to setting goals for the years 2026-2028. Where necessary this review to involve consultation with local community groups, Borough and County Councillors and the wider community.
16. 8.40pm - Finance:
(a) To authorise the schedule of accounts presented for payment
(b) To note the year to date income and expenditure schedule
17. 8.45pm - Motion from Councillor Foreshew-Cain to establish a Town Square Working Group - to organise local volunteers to regularly clear weeds and litter from the Town Square.
18. 8.50pm - Motion from the Chair that mobile phones should be switched off during all meetings so that they do not cause a distraction to members.
19. 8.55pm - Motion from Councillor Adshead that the Council receives and update on the War Memorial and consider adding Dove Holes to the project.
20. 9pm - Motion from Councillor Foreshew-Cain to install swift boxes on the Town Hall.
21. 9.05pm - Motion from Councillor Dales that the Council contacts HPBC Assets department to ascertain who owns the market place railings that. This follows the confusion over the siting of a banner promoting the 800th celebrations on the market place railings authorised by the High Peak Borough Council. Further motion that once a definitive reply is received from HPBC, the full council discuss the ongoing policy re siting of banners on the market place
22. 9.10pm - Motion from Councillor Dales that the regeneration committee meet with our High Peak Borough Council councillors, to determine a joint approach to regeneration/maintenance of the market place
23. 9.15pm - To consider a request raised at the Annual Parish Meeting from resident that the Parish Council supports a call for the National Park to be extended to take over the industrially developed areas along the A6 and A515 corridors. This area is about 1 to 2 miles wide, and almost 15 miles in length, starting in the Disley/New Mills area, and terminating near Flagg.
24. 9.20pm - To consider any grant applications received.
25. 9.25pm - To note any court case matters.
