With the possibility of the wind direction changing, areas such as Padfield and Hadfield may become more affected by the smoke plume from the Tintwistle Moor wildfire over the coming days.

Residents and visitors are advised to avoid areas affected by smoke where possible. If you live in the area, please stay indoors with doors and windows closed if possible, and follow updates and advice from @DFRS.

If you need to travel through smoky conditions, keep your vehicle windows closed, switch the air vents to recirculate, and turn off systems that draw in air from outside.
