– Supporting our community on the Crossings Development
The residents of Chapel-en-le-Frith have given the Parish Council a clear mandate to oppose the proposed development for an additional 180 houses at Crossings. It is therefore working hard to support residents in responding to the proposed development, not just as a collective but as individuals as well. We know how strongly our community feels about protecting our town, our green spaces, and our already stretched infrastructure, and we are committed to helping secure the best possible outcome for local people.
So far, the Parish Council is:
• Hosting a public community meeting to bring people together and help shape a strong, united objection.
• Running public drop-in sessions so residents can ask questions, share concerns, and learn how to submit a response.
• Speaking with other parish and town councils who have experience of dealing with similar developments.
• Engaging with our local MP to raise the seriousness of community concerns.
• Petitioning for extra time to ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to put forward their views on this application.
This development is not happening in isolation. We are already aware of further housing proposals in the pipeline for Chapel-en-le-Frith, making it even more important that we come together now and make our voices heard.
We cannot do this alone. We need the strength, knowledge, experience, and passion of our community behind us.
Please support us by:
• Attending the community meeting and offering your help.
• Dropping by to speak to us at one of our drop-in sessions.
• Sharing your concerns and encouraging others to get involved.
Together, we can stand up for our town and work towards the best possible future for Chapel-en-le-Frith.
